Randy & Jason collectively known as The Sklar Brothers stopped through Educated Insanity to talk about their visit to the Chicagoland Area. They also spoke about their podcast Sklarbro Country which a special episode was recorded live at UP Comedy Club in Chicago. Jay and the Sklar Bros. talked about the NBA and the Indiana/Miami series.
Unless you have been under a rock and just been ignoring J.R.Bang and Jay Washington you know that on Thursday, April 25 at the World Famous Laugh Factory, Educated Insanity presented “Laughing Insanity” and it was indeed that INSANE.
Jay & J.R. (a.k.a “The Other Guy”) hosted an AMAZING as well as HILARIOUS line up that included Xavier Lamont, Anthony Bonazzo, Marc Henderson, Schmitty B, Ken Garr, Kellye Howard and last but not least Kevin Williams. This has recently become a day in age where there is seemingly less and less for Chicagoland youth to be involved in to avoid being caught in the madness that lies present within Chicago streets. Many on a worldwide stage have heard of the violence that plagues Chicago’s youth on a daily basis so it is truly refreshing to find individuals with a genuine concern to find alternate solutions instead of the same dead end that many children feel that they are destined to be involved in.
Jeff Hunt and John Singleton have come together to form the J.J.Y.A youth pro camp, which meshes both football as well as track & field events. Along with the two men Jay was able to speak with Formed Chicago Bear Tight End Desmond Clark, who talks why he got involved with the cause and how violence has affected him as well.
We talk about how track & field is used more in football then people tend to give credit for.

We wrapped up yet another informative and educated week on Educated Insanity. NFL free agency and trades that ran rampant, to the seemingly overnight Up’s & downs of NBA teams. We covered the changes in the sports world and even had some extremely ignorant news stories.
Once again Jay Washington caught up with founder of the MaeBell Ward Alzheimer’s Foundation, Terron Edmonds. The MaeBell Ward Foundation is dedicated to raising and spreading awareness about Alzheimer’s as well doing whatever they can to help raise money to find a cure to the deadly disease.
Terron came in the studio to update us on what all is going on with the Foundation and their latest fundraisers and even something major they are in the works for. Also a special guest drops in on the interview that we haven’t heard from in a while.
Chicago is home to many actors, stand-up comedians and even improvisers. All of which can be found in Jamie Campbell. Jamie a transplant from Oklahoma to Chicago, talks about his beginnings in comedy as well as theater, how he became apart of the executive staff at the World Famous Comedy Sportz theater and even the creation and production of many different shows.
Jamie give Jay Washington a lesson if you would into improv comedy and how a scene is developed. in regard to the shows he has helped to create they spoke on the stand-up comedy showcase “100 Proof Comedy” and the talk show “Talk Hard”.
Iconic Comedian and Actor Bill Bellamy stopped thru Educated Insanity in the midst of his busy press day to promote and talk about the Showtime debut of his “Ladies Night Out Comedy Tour” Friday, February 22nd at 8:30pm cst. He talks about the tour which includes himself, Ali Saddiq, Jay Reid and D’Lai who also perform on the tour with him. Him & Jay talked about how the idea for the tour came about as well as the response from the crowds as they have hit the road in preparation for the official taping.
They also spoke on the show that introduced Bill Bellamy to the three comedians, TV One’s “Who’s Got Jokes”. Jay & Bill also talked about Bill’s connection to Chicago and the many Chicago Comedians he has developed connections with including, Lil Rel, Shawn Morgan, Leon Rogers, Deon Cole, George Willbourn, Deray Davis, B.Cole and more.

Jay Washington got the chance to sit down and chat with living comedy legend Judy Tentua. Judy being in the stand-up comedy game for over three decades takes Jay on a trip down memory lane, who she has worked with some of her fond memories, and even the new generation of stand-up comedians in which she finds herself entertained by. Jay also finds out how Judy became acclimated with her signature accordion.
Jay Washington got the chance to sit and chat it up with two funny Chicago Comedians in Greg Gettle and Lindsay Adams. We found out how each got their starts in stand-up comedy, being transplants from other cities to Chicago. They also talked about living in Chicago’s famous Wrigleyville and the new showcase which they are starting up called “Duck Duck Comedy”.
Jay Washington sat down with producer/artist Monz the Talk on Educated Insanity. Jay informed everyone that him and Monz had known each other since they were children, how Monz got his start in music (which goes back to when he was a toddler), his influences and how he gets his inspiration to come up with the art he produces. They talked about the mixtape release party scheduled Tuesday January 22nd at Red Kiva in Chicago,IL. We also get to hear the track “My Moment” as well.
