ESPN’s Stephen A Smith had found himself in a little bit of heat after a “slip-up” on ESPN’s FIRST TAKE on October 25th LIVE. Smith was going on in a rant about Los Angeles Lakers’ Kobe Bryant and that when the “N-word” racial slur seemingly came out of his mouth.
Now of course Stephen A. says he didn’t say anything and ESPN isn’t going to take any disciplinary action to it, but the did make sure that they bleeped out whatever he said during the replay.
Smith said that he was just talking to fast and people may have misunderstood him. You can check out the video here and be the judge for yourself.
Chicago was on fire when the news leaked out the wide receiver Brandon Marshall was traded to the Bears for only 2 third round picks. Maybe his former team the Miami Dolphins knew the trouble wide out had more trouble on the way.
Marshall apparently punched a woman at 4 a.m Monday after leaving the Chelsea nightclub in New York.
The report says Marshall was involved in a fight with another football player who were thrown out. The victim, Christin Myles then headed out of the club and allegedly got punched by Marshall who meant to to hit someone else.
Marshall has had his share of trouble since entering the NFL. Last April Marshall’s wife, Michi Nogami-Marshall was charged on a domestic-violence charge of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon after stabbing him. ESPN’s “Outside The Lines” ran a story in 2009 detailing Marshall’s past of domestic violence & Marshall was also present when Denver Broncos Cornerback Darrent Williams was gunned down on New Years Day 2007.
Let’s hope Marshall’s past his behind him in a Bears Uniform.
The worldwide leader in sports ESPN has had a rough day to say the least. First a questionable headline was posted after last night’s New York Knicks-New Orleans Hornets game.
“Chink” is a derogatory term used against Asians and of course Knicks point guard Jeremy Lin is asian.
ESPN posted this comment
”Last night, ESPN.com’s mobile website posted an offensive headline referencing Jeremy Lin at 2:30 a.m. ET. The headline was removed at 3:05 a.m. We are conducting a complete review of our cross-platform editorial procedures and are determining appropriate disciplinary action to ensure this does not happen again. We regret and apologize for this mistake.”
Also this morning a picture of Dallas Mavericks Power Forward Dirk Nowitzki (unintentionally) throwing up a gang sign during their comeback win against the Philadelphia 76ers is posted right on the front page.
Maybe ESPN needs some new proof readers for the website. Some with a little street cred.
Television writer Jason Elia went out and got tickets to Super Bowl 46 for himself and his girlfriend. Ella even wanted to propose to her on Christmas (aaaaaaawwwwww). An unfortunate situation happen: Elia was diagnosed with Bladder Cancer. According to Elia, his girlfriend dumped him after hearing the news on the spot (Damn Heaux).
The story gets crazier. Jason says she still wants the tickets because she claims they were meant for her anyway! Jason on the other hand is giving away his tickets in a contest. Jason is auctioning the tickets off on Twitter. Whoever gets Jason the most Twitter followers by the end of the Pro Bowl will get the tickets. Currently a webcam girl is in the lead, promising five minute shows to anyone who follows Jason. She has sent approximately 250 followers so far. You can find Jason on twitter at @notjasonelia.
Hey ummm Carlos Boozer, so know you decide you want to play semi-decent ball and earn that 90-something million your getting from the Bulls, but yeah you may wanna teach your kids to cheer for daddy especially when you all are tryna win a game.
Because having your child caught on NATIONAL TELEVISION cheering for the other team is grounds to take a time out, jump in the stands, take his lil ass in the bathroom and shake TRUTH , JUSTICE, and the “DAMMIT IM DADDY WAY” into him.
