Elderly Woman Photobombs Marriage Proposal

photobombedbird“TAKE THAT PAPARAZZI” This is pretty safe to assume this is what this older lady thought this was at first.

Photographer Kerinsa Mullins was at Coors Field on Thursday night for one reason—to document a proposal. Mullins had been hired to take pictures as Colorado Rockies fan Kenny Lovelace asked his girlfriend, Molly Ryan, to share the rest of their lives together.

Unfortunately for Mullins, her job turned into a nightmare when a group of elderly fans began harassing her as she tried to capture the moment.

The strange story was spotted by Rick Chandler of, and it ended with a grandma photobombing this couple’s proposal pictures with the only finger that matters.

According to an interview Mullins gave to WTOP 103.5, two elderly fans began giving her static the moment she stood up to take pictures.

Mullins claims the two began yelling at her and giving her nasty looks from the moment she stood up to take pictures:

As soon as I saw the proposal I stood up quickly to photograph and get a better angle. The man next to [the old lady] yelled at me to sit down and so I quickly just said ‘I’m sorry I am photographing a proposal behind you.’ So they knew what was going on.

The elderly fans continued being jerks, however, despite Mullins’ explanation and the “Will you marry me?” message Lovelace had displayed on the Jumbotron.

“They kept yelling at me and I just ignored them,” Mullins said. “I was there to do a job and I did not want to miss something that would be so brief and so important.”

Another woman with the older couple even went as far as asking a security guard to move Mullins, however, Ryan accepted the proposal and the special moment was over by the time the guard arrived.

Mullins was glad to be done with the situation, and said she didn’t notice the middle finger the lady had flashed until the next day. She was scared that the couple would hate the pictures, but Ryan—the bride-to-be—says she loves them.

“I couldn’t stop laughing,” Ryan said. “I said it was greatest photo I’ve ever seen.”

New York City will officially host the NBA all-star weekend in 2015. Which team you ask? That’s what makes this interesting. The weekend festivities will be shared by both Madison Square Garden and Barclays center. The league has been working for months for months with both the New York Knicks and the Brooklyn Nets.

This is not the first time that the sites have been split. In 2010 the NBA split the festivities in Dallas between the Dallas Mavericks stadium and the Dallas Cowboys football stadium.

The Saturday activities: Future Stars game(rookie vs sophomore), Skills Challenge, Slam Dunk contest and the 3 point contest will be held in Brooklyn at the Barclays center. The Sunday activities: Celebrity Basket Ball Game and the All-star game will be held in New York City at Madison Square Garden.

Next February New York City will host the Super Bowl and i am sure they will be testing and perfecting the city blueprint to host major sporting events. The following February they should have everything well in hand. I am so sure the city will be buzzing all weekend long since they never sleep anyway!!

The NFL is off to a very compelling start this season and has fans glued to there televisions all day Sunday, as well as, Monday and Thursday nights. Wrapping up week 3 there may be 7 teams that remain undefeated (Broncos are playing now) but that is not the headline going into Monday Night Football.

The headlines are: Von Miller of the Denver Broncos tried to pay to cheat a drug test which is why he is suspended for 6 games (3 remaining after tonight) this season; Aldon Smith of the San Francisco 49ers will be checking into a substance abuse rehab facility after his DUI on Friday; Jacoby Jones of the Super Bowl Champion Baltimore Ravens was involved in an incident involving a stripper while celebrating a teammates birthday Sunday; and Adam “Pacman” Jones was charged with misdemeanor disorderly conduct early Monday morning.

Clearly, there is a problem. Maybe the problems are more so personal rather than a “NFL” problem but still, this is who represents you. Roger Goddell, Commissioner of the NFL, has been on a mission to make sure there is not any cheating but they have forgotten how to be upstanding citizens. I am definitely not judging any of these individuals on there behavior because we are all human. I am saying that the NFL is looking bad in terms of public relations.

The only thing that matters to a business that provides a service to people is perception. You cannot make money if you are not appealing. Concussions and former player injuries have already clouded the public opinion of most and the occasional player running into the law once a month sure is not that good of a look either.

It has been happening for years but it has never been this publicized. All athletes are under a microscope now but the NFL is being zoomed in on 10 times harder. To be honest, I do not think anything will change because they will not lose a dollar but if they do I know Goddell will be ready to snap the whip.

Senior Citizen Weightlifter Banned For Steroids

80yearold_crop_northSo with all of the talk of steroids and Performance Enhancement Drugs in sports there isnt too much that will shock a person or have you say “well that was unexpected”. This story right here may change all of that.

The U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (the same agency responsible for stripping Lance Armstong NEKKID) announced Friday that it has banned 80-year-old weightlifter Don Ramos, of Colorado Springs, Colo., after he tested positive for steroids.

Ramos is now banned for two years and won’t be eligible to compete again until July 2015.

The geriatric juicier was attempting to set a world record for his age group at the Pan American Masters Weightlifting Championships back in June.

According to the USADA’s release:

USADA was contracted to test the Pan American Masters Weightlifting Championships, which is an event for athletes 35 and older, in Chicago, Ill.  June 14 – June 16, 2013. Ramos, 80, tested positive for the presence of a steroid of exogenous origin as the result of an in-competition urine sample collected on June 14, 2013 while he was attempting to set a world record.

This isn’t the first aging athlete the USADA has recently busted. Two years ago, the organization banned four masters athletes over the age of 50 for positive tests. If these guys are taking these for weight lifting with that comes an extended testosterone burst and high sex drive, that means there are some young girls somewhere who thought they came up on a sugar daddy getting their backs BLOWN OUT.

On August 29th 2013, Judge Layne Phillips announced the NFL and the consolidated 4,500 lawsuits from former and current NFL players have reached an agreement on a settlement. The settlement, 765 million dollars, is to be paid over a total of 17 years (50% in the first 3 years, that’s 382.5 million).  This is not a true success in a lot of the player’s minds but they know that this is a step in the right direction. The agreement was considered “historic” by Judge Phillips due to its magnitude and media attention, “This is a historic agreement, one that will make sure that former NFL players who need and deserve compensation will receive it, and that will promote safety for players at all levels of football,” said Judge Phillips.  “Rather than litigate literally thousands of complex individual claims over many years, the parties have reached an agreement that, if approved, will provide relief and support where it is needed at a time when it is most needed.   I am deeply grateful to Judge Brody for appointing me as mediator and offering me the opportunity to work on such an important and interesting matter.”

Although everyone is very excited, it is not a done deal yet. Once all documents are final it will be filed with Judge Anita B. Brody in a federal court in Philadelphia, PN. Judge Brody will then set a preliminary hearing. After the preliminary hearing it will be distributed amongst retired players and they will then be given a chance to give their objections. After all of their objections are made final Judge Brody will then have a hearing for final grant approval. She is expected to release the schedule next week.

The Settlement is broken down into parts: Class Settlement, No Admissions of Liability or Weakness of Claims, Payments, Timing of Payments, Baseline Medical Examinations, Injury Compensation Fund, Research and Education Fund and Other Benefits. To go further in depth go to It is not a touchdown but it is moving the chains in the right direction.

Everybody that plays fantasy football knows that this time of year means everything and nothing at the same time. Football is a contact sport, which means people WILL get hurt, and you are taking a gamble on every pick. There are levels to this thing called “The Draft” though! You have probably done a draft, if not a few, and you see that this is a running back year, meaning they are the most valuable. Well, that’s what they say.

If you have done this for years like I have you know all information is good information from training camp. You soak it in and start gathering an idea of how you will attack your league. Doing research is KEY for your “star players.” If you decide to attack through the ground or the air is key. What I need everyone to know is simply this; you will always have “sleepers.”

Drafting is about getting those chosen few that you believe you can count on when it matters. It all depends on how your league is set up that should determine who those people are not prior rankings based off of last year statistic. Which gets you the most points passing yards and touchdowns or running yards and touchdowns? For those of you who did not know these things prior to drafting, we professionals will feast on you this season.

6 DAYS…….

Bears have strong showing

The Chicago Bears hosted the San Diego Chargers on Thursday, August 15, 2013 in one of the best preseason games of the year to date. It is only week 2 of the preseason, so that isn’t saying much, but they have people asking the good ol’ questions already, “How far can the Bears really go this year?” Simple answer, they will go as far as the O-Line allows them to. A lot of people are putting it on Jay Cutler because it is a contract year for him but Jay has to be able to throw the ball before we place him with the blame.

If last night was any indication of how the Bears plan to play under new Head Coach Marc Trestman, then the O-Line will be carrying us right into a first-place battle with Green Bay for the NFC North. The rookies Kyle Long and Jordan Mills looked seasoned in only their second game with the starters opening major lanes for Matt Forte to pile up 74 yds. and a touchdown on just 8 carries. They also gave Cutler enough time to complete 4/5 passes (all to Brandon Marshall) for 38 yds and a touchdown.

The defense is STILL the defense forcing 4 turnovers again this week. Rookie Jon Bostic showed signs of true Bear linebacker play when he leveled a receiver on a screen play early in the game. It is only week 2 of the preseason but this is the perfect time to be positive about the little things. BEARDOWN Chi-town!!
