Doctors at Shanghai, China’s Zhongshan Hospital removed a dildo from the intestinesof a 30-year-old man, according to Shanghai Daily. The doctors said the man had inserted the dildo into his body to “enhance sexual pleasure with his wife,” the paper reports.
“If we did not remove the dildo in time, the man could have gone into a critical condition,” doctor Yao Liqing said. “Doctors were astonished to see such a big item taken out of the patient’s body.”
The dildo measured roughly 9 inches long and three inches wide.
AFP reports that these types of incidents are on the rise “amid loosening attitudes towards sex,” in China. Shops selling sex toys and contraceptives are commonplace in Chinese cities, according to the wire service.
