Ian’s Jam Reviews: Jack White’s “Blunderbuss” is a must!

Over the years Jack White has kept us busy with so much music to show off. From The White Stripes, The Raconteurs, Dead Weather, and now his solo album. He’s ranked number 70 on Rolling Stone’s list of “The 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time”. He’ll be playing selected dates this summer with festivals such as Radio 1’s Hackney Weekend, Sasquatch! Music Festival, Fuji Rock Festival in Japan, and one of the biggest festivals in the world, Rock Werchter in Belgium.

“Blunderbuss” shows how dynamic Jack White can be from singing the blues to jazz and folk. This album has a little bit of every flavor you can have on a Jack White album. The track “Sixteen Saltines” opens with that grungy guitar that sounded as if it should have been a track on an earlier White Stripes album. From his first single, “Love Interruption” shows the lighter side of things to “I’m Shakin” which has a Bo Didley feel even when he even speaks of Mr. Didley on the actual track. Shake your hips like battleships baby! “Blunderbuss” puts the icing on the cake as I see it with Jack White’s career and leading further on into his next project. This has to be definitely one of the top albums of the year. Hands down to Mr. White.

Tracks to check out- “Sixteen Saltines” and “Hypocritical Kiss”
